Received a text to say Dave and Tony were launching their new toy (a boat) at 10 a.m. on 17th Dec.2011, down on Praia Antonio Sousa beach, Santa Maria, Sal Island. So of I set to watch this momentous occasion. A number of Expats had turned up to watch the launch too. I and Linda turned up with our cameras so we could record this historic event. Some of the sea faring expats turned up to help. The engine was fixed to the boat. We could see the swell would make it a slightly difficult launch.
Some of the local dogs had joined us and decided to make their own fun. Swimmers and kitesurfers kept a reasonable distance (don’t blame them).
